The Warm America Crochet Beanie is a great beanie to make up fast. This is also a beginner friendly pattern. Warm Up America is gathering beanies and other warm attire for when natural disaster hit for those in need. Make one or many several for those in need. It takes super bulky yarn and a large crochet hook to work up.

medium 20" circumference, 8.75" length

row 1 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, pm at beginning of rnd and continue to move pm as you progress with each rnd
row 2 2 sc in each st around
row 3 *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st** rep * to * 5 more times
row 4 * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st** rep * to ** 5 more times
row 5 *sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st** rep * to ** 5 more times
This next row will make the beanie go from a small to a medium
row 6 medium size *sc in next 14 sts, 2 sc in next st** rep * to ** 1 more time
row 6 -13 (7-17) sc in each st rnd
row 14 (18) sc in next 29 sts, sl st in last st
Finish
cut yarn leaving 10" tail. weave in all ends using darning needle and cut remaining yarn.
Make a large pom pom and attach to top of beanie
